![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 7, 2007 FIVE POINTS WASHINGTON ANNOUNCES FIRST THEATER SHOW Five Points Washington announces the first performance in the new Caterpillar Performing Arts Center. As part of the Grand Opening weekend on Saturday, October 13, stand up comedian, Tom Ryan, will open for the musical comedy duo, Michael & Amy for an evening of hilarious entertainment. Tom Ryan comes to Washington from Los Angeles, California. He has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central, Showtime and NBC’s Late Friday Night. He has been the opening act for such names as Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, Howie Mandel, and Dennis Miller. He is best known for his Morton Salt and Arm and Hammer Baking Soda routines where he points out things like the most brilliant marketing strategy of all time – how Arm and Hammer convinced us to buy their product and then pour it down the drain! Michael and Amy are one of the most sought after acts today for national and international theatrical and concert audiences. Their music and comedy dueling pianos show is completely unique in the industry. They have creatively transformed the wildly popular dueling pianos entertainment concept, first popularized in dueling piano bars in America, by capturing its best elements then mixing in their own premium blend of family-friendly outrageous comedy, adding their years of theatrical performance and production experience to create a one-of-a-kind entertainment thrill-ride. Michael and Amy are consummate and artful entertainers. They masterfully combine a mix of musical scores ranging from Beethoven to Billy Joel, Gershwin to Garth, Andrew Lloyd Weber to AC/DC, with humor and personal charisma while taking their audience on a double fisted, full throated, unexpected journey of piano/vocal virtuosity. One moment you’re singing at the top of your lungs, the next doubled over in laughter, and then... breathless. Always fun. Always exciting. Completely entertaining, amazing audiences everywhere. Show starts at 7:30, Saturday, October 13, 2007. For more information on ticket sales and performers go to www.FivePointsWashington.org or visit the temporary business office at 104 S. Elm, Washington, Illinois.
