The water is a great place to work out because it puts less pressure on the joints as you exercise. That's why, at Five Points Washington, we offer aquatic fitness classes. Full Descriptions of our Aquatic Fitness Classes
A simulated cycling class, done in the water, using ankle weights for pedal resistance and a float bar for handle bars. Great for cardio and core, this class is designed to test and enhance your balance.
A simple water exercise & relaxation program performed using a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements in flowing continual patterns. Can be beneficial for balance improvement, pain management, arthritis, and a great way to relieve stress.
Gentle exercise designed for persons with physical limitations such as back problems, arthritis or Fibromyalgia. Will help increase flexibility and improve circulation, balance and muscle tone.
Similar to water aerobics. With its inclusion of upbeat, Latin-inspired music. Aqua Zumba has been described as more of a “pool party” then an exercise class, combining swift movements like splashing, stretching and twisting to work out the body.
Aqua Fit will improve strength and cardiovascular endurance without the impact on your joints. Water provides resistance to tone, strengthen and define the muscles and the large movements of the legs and arms provide the aerobic workout to burn fat and strenghten the cardiovascular system.
Build cardiovascular endurance, strength, and flexibility while having fun. Let the upbeat music keep you motivated to push yourself. Incorporates dance and water resistance to tone and strengthen the body.
Incorporates muscular strengthening, aerobic conditioning and abdominal strengthening exercises in a non-impact environment. You will use floatation equipment for buoyancy and water resistance. Participants should be comfortable in deep water.
Fun and Fit
This is a shallow water class designed to develop and maintain general components of physical fitness. Benefits of this class include flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, balance and cardio-respiratory. You will work hard at your fitness level, but it will be fun.
