FIVE POINTS COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Five Points Washington cares about you and the communities we serve. Throughout the year, we have chosen to partner with local organizations to either donate needed items, volunteer time, and provide programs and services that enrich and benefit all ages.  Check in with us to see a list of our ongoing initiatives that you can help join in our cause or catch a movie for free!  Our staff wants you to join in our #FivePointsCares programs and projects!

Five Points Cares Community Outreach

11/20-12/13   TOYS FOR TOTS DRIVE 

Join us for a friendly competition among the Aquatics and Fitness departments!! Bring in a toy donation and place it in the Aquatics Bin or Fitness Bin in the lobby.

Each week we will keep a running total to see what area is in the lead!

All toys received will be donated to Toys for Tots.

The toy drive will run from November 20th- December 13th.

11/29-1/10    BABY ITEM DRIVE benefiting THE DREAM CENTER

Five Points will be collecting baby items such as:
Wipes, Diapers, Baby Shampoo, Baby Wash, Baby Oil,
Skincare Ointments, Baby Powder, Baby Comb & Soft Brushes
Pacifiers, Nipples and Bottles, Socks and Bibs, Blankets, Wash
Towels, Hoodie Towels, & Burp Rags, Q-Tips and Clippers
*Bring in a baby donation and receive your FIRST MONTH MEMBERSHIP for $20 on any 12 month membership.*

COATS FOR KIDS

We are a donation location for Coats for Kids! The collection bins are located in the main lobby. We were told we had the largest donation collection last year out of all of the Tazewell, Woodford, and Peoria locations. Let’s keep it up again this year! We have such a generous community!

12/1-12/31    HOLIDAY FITNESS CHALLENGE benefiting MY SISTER’S HOUSE

Members can join our 30 day fitness challenge for $10 to help stay
accountable during the holidays. The proceeds will go to My Sister’s House in Washington.

12/7/19    FIVE POINTS MOVIES: Elf

Five Points will be showing a Christmas time favorite, Elf in our theater to celebrate the holiday season. The movie begins at 10:00 AM. Admission is $3.00 and concessions will be available.

12/17/19    FIVE POINTS MOVIES: Miracle on 34th Street

Five Points will be showing Miracle on 34th Street in our theater to celebrate the holiday season. The movie begins at 10:00 AM. Admission is $2.00 and free for seniors 62+.

12/19/19    RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE 

The American Red Cross hosts blood drives in our banquet rooms from 12:30-6:30 PM. If you are interested in donating blood but can’t make this date, blood drives will also take place on the following dates: Monday, January 13th, Monday, February 10th, Monday, March 16th, Monday, April 13th, Monday, May 11th, Monday, June 8th, Monday, July 13th, Monday, August 17th, Monday, September 14th, Monday, October 12th, Monday, November 16th, Monday, and December 21st.

CENTRAL ILLINOIS INTERMEDIATE LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM

Five Points hosts the life skills program each month, so far the program has used the aquatics center and taken a body flow class. Our mission is to give each child the opportunity to further build and use everyday motor skills and for them to have fun!!

1/21/19    METHODIST WELLMOBILE AT FIVEPOINTS

The Wellmobile will be at Five Points every third Tuesday. This service is a consumer education program designed to promote healthier living in our community. It brings free or low-cost screenings throughout Central Illinois. Caring and trained staff members provide education on healthy living, early detection of disease, disease prevention and more. It is our hope that patients and physicians use our services to monitor the improvement of results during dietary, lifestyle or medication changes. Services include: Blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, and spirometry (lung function) are also included with these screenings.

2/1-2/18       FAMILY  SWIM SUNDAYS

On every Sunday in February from 2-6 pm, enjoy swimming in our
Aquatics Center for $3.00 for kids (3-12) and $5.00 for anyone 13 and up, kids under 3 are free!  Families can enjoy our warm water during the cold Sundays of February.

4/4/19          AQUATIC EASTER EGG HUNT

Come and enjoy our annual Aquatic Easter Egg Hunt. This has been a beloved long running tradition among families in the community each year. Children aged 2-12 and their families can come and enjoy the event for $5.00 for members and $7.00 for nonmembers which includes participation in the event, a goodie bag, and free open swim. Participants will be divided into age appropriate groups in our warm water pools. Information on registrations to come!

4/24/19          BUCKETS N BOARDS SHOW IN THE THEATER AND SNACK PAC

Bring in a Weekend Snackpac Item to the show and receive a coupon
for discounted tickets for another Live @ Five Points Show!
Washington Weekend Snackpac items are: non perishable items

4/25/19       WASHINGTON COMMUNITY CLEAN UP

Join Five Points Washington staff, the Washington Park District, community officials, and citizens in a city wide clean up. This is a great opportunity to help us beautify the city!

6/15-6/20       CARDBOARD BOAT RACE

Join us as we host our second cardboard boat race in our Aquatics Center! This event is sure to be loads of fun for all! Families or small teams can register to build a boat out of cardboard and race it relay style across our competition pool! This event will be a great way to bond with your children, or friends in a friendly competition and to use your imagination and creativity building a boat! Supplies will be provided and teams will have a week to design and build their boats and we will race in the morning on the 20th! The winners will receive a prize!! Pricing and registration information to come!

Five Points Cares Past Outreach

 FUNDRAISING EVENTS:

    • The Personal Training department hosts numerous fundraising events. The latest: was a community workout event on Labor Day to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.
    • DEAD LIFTING EVENT, Pull for Pancreatic Cancer
    • WHIP fundraisers
    • Eats and Drinks of the World that benefited the Red Cross Foundation
    • DAX Tri to support the DAX Foundation
    • Snack pac food drives
    • Good Neighbor day run sponsor
    • Dance for a Cause for St. Jude
    • Five Points annual Summer Jam
    • Free activities for seniors (Wii, cards, and senior movies)
    • Red Cross blood drives
    • Annual Charity Tri. In the past proceeds have gone to the Alzheimer’s Association and to the Council on Aging.
