Neal Bowling Continues Support of St. Jude in Five Points Fridays Free Outdoor Concert July 10 in Washington

Neal Bowling is a performer with a mission.

The catalog of music played by the Mackinaw acoustic solo musician covers several genres, including pop, rock and country. While his musical offerings vary widely–spanning from the 1950s to today and ranging from the Beatles to the Black Keys–Bowling remains singularly focused on a singular cause: he donates 100 percent of the proceeds from his performances to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

“I’ve always followed St. Jude as a cause and I’ve always donated,” Bowling said. “I really got involved when a friend of mine talked me into participating in the Mackinaw-to-Peoria run.
“I was looking for a way to kick it into a higher gear. I enjoy performing, and I don’t really need the money, so I thought this would be a great way to support St. Jude.”

Last year, Bowling donated more than $11,000 to St. Jude. This year, he has already exceeded that amount.

Bowling will perform July 10 as part of Five Points Fridays, a series of free outdoor concerts hosted by Five Points Washington. Gates open at 5:30 pm the event, and the performance begins at 6 pm. The concert will be held adjacent to the new Five Points Washington outdoor patio area and adjacent parking lot area, located on the south end of the facility. Mike’s Knot Just Ribs food truck and Kona Ice of Peoria will have food available for purchase. A cash bar also will be available.

All performances in the Five Points Fridays series are free and open to the public; tickets are not required but, for planning purposes, attendees are encouraged to indicate they will attend in the individual Facebook event listings on the Live at Five Points Facebook page. Masks are not required by attendees as along as social distancing can be maintained. Limited seating and tables will be provided while adhering to social distancing guidelines, but attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
